Artist Website

The website design work for Tyler Diaz's portfolio site involved a comprehensive and collaborative process to showcase his art effectively. Starting with initial discussions, we established the site’s core structure, including essential pages such as Portfolio, About, Contact, and Shop, with a focus on creating an archive-like gallery that highlights his charcoal drawings and other artworks.

Sitemap

The first sitemap was used to map out the structure the hierarchy of the website navigation. Initially, a Portfolio page, About page, Contact page, and Shop page were considered essential.

Revisions focus on essential pages, including Portfolio, About, and Contact, with plans for a Shop page that can be activated later.

The Portfolio page would serve as an overview hub linking to individual project details. The About page would feature a short artist biography, while the Contact page would include a simple contact form and social media links.

Wireframes

Wireframes were created in grayscale to provide simplified blueprints of the digital interface, used to plan the design and functionality before adding details and visuals for the website.

Mockups

The mockups show a clean, gallery-style portfolio with charcoal-inspired visuals on a black backdrop, highlighting Tyler’s art pieces. It includes pages for the Portfolio, About, and Contact pages, for easy navigation.

Lorem Ipsum was used for placeholder text.

Color Palette

The color palette is accented with red, used selectively for titles and highlights, while white type on a dark background ensures readability and a gallery-like feel that echoes the look of an archive or gallery wall.

Typography

The client preferred Helvetica or Roboto fonts for their simplicity and clarity, with potential variations in weight to add subtle contrast. Maroon is introduced as an accent color to highlight titles and key elements, providing a cohesive yet understated visual identity that resembles a gallery wall, where art is the main focus and typography remains unobtrusive.
